Mike: We were going to talk about the story of us moving out here to Cheyenne. We moved during the pandemic. When the pandemic started, we lived in Syracuse, New York. If you remember anything about the pandemic in New York, it was just locked down. It was pretty bad. And so, we said, “We're not going to spend the winter here in Syracuse during the lockdown.” We packed up our camper and we

Lori: took our three boys…

Mike: We took our three boys and our two dogs, and we went south to Florida for the winter.

Lori: and explored all over the Southeast.

Mike: We explored all over the Southeast and, and we enjoyed being out of New York so much that when that trip was over, we went back to Syracuse, packed up a camper again and came out west here.

Lori: Yeah. We took our camper out here to the west and explored the West and really looked for a new place to move to. We felt a calling to move, in our family and explore. We got out here and took a trip. We went to Colorado for a little bit, and then went up to Cheyenne and we loved it. We fell in love with Cheyenne. We stayed at Curt Gowdy State Park with our camper. And, we made the decision to move.

Mike: Yeah, we really loved the traffic. That there is no traffic here! That's, that's what made this decision of course. As we were visiting and we were getting ready to leave, um, our twin boys who were 10 at the time were like, “This feels like home.”

Lori: Yeah. “We feel like we're living at home.” It really told us that for our family and the adventure that we wanted to live in our life, that we felt like we wanted to move West. We sold our house. We bought a house sight unseen out here that some friends looked at for us and we moved west.

It has been an adventure since we've been here. We've been here [for] four years. We love to camp. We love the Snowys [Snowy Mountain Range], we downhill ski in the winter. We love Frontier Days. It's a lot of fun. We're very active in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts here in Cheyenne with our troops and our boys love that. We've just made it home here for our family and we've made a lot of friends. It's a giving community. There's a lot of giving people in Cheyenne.

One thing we really like is the weather. I know that people laugh about that, but you know, we came from the east where precipitation was really a lot, and here the sun shines 300 days a year. We love to hike and be outdoors. We were talking earlier with our group all about the different wildlife that we have seen and the different National Parks we have been to.

Mike:  We've seen bears, we've seen moose. Moose fighting each other. Fighting. Fighting, and you know, like it's really been a fun adventure.

Lori: Fishing has been a big thing out here. Trout fishing and catching big, beautiful trout with our family. It's just been really fun. Really fun. We hope for more adventures, and we have more camping trips planned this summer in the West. We love Wyoming,

Mike: So, that's our story.

Grace: Yeah, that's beautiful. Thank you so much.
